Photo Tours in Metro Vancouver

Guided hikes and one-day road trips with wildlife watching opportunities.

Squamish Backcountry Adventure

Getting to Squamish from Vancouver by car leads you onto one of the most spectacular scenic roads in the world: The Sea-to-Sky Highway
The highway 99, that’s its official name, was widened and upgraded for the 2010 winter Olympics. It offers breathtakingly beautiful views over the pacific ocean and the Howe Sound. We will be stopping at several outlooks to take in such views and for photo opportunities on our way to Squamish. A waterfall stop and a pit stop to explore the beach and and old ferry terminal is also planned. All locations do have washrooms. To make this trip convenient for everyone, only short walks are required to see the beauty of nature up close.

We will be visiting a few locations in the Squamish outskirts, before we’re heading into the backcountry. Fasten your seatbelt and be prepared to get shaken-up while we’re slowly exploring the unpaved backroads into Grizzly Bear country. We usually see lot’s of wildlife during the entire trip and will be stopping at many locations to stretch our legs and also take in some snacks and of course take many picture. You’ll be ending up with long lasting memories and high quality photos to always easily travel back to this day in your mind.

The Squamish Backcountry Adventure takes place rain or shine in all seasons and year round. However, especially in the winter time, the backroad might not be cleared off of snow and ice and therefore impassable.

Bald Eagle Tour – Fraser Valley

There are a few locations in southern British Columbia were bald eagles congregate during the salmon run. The eagles coming down from the colder northern parts of the country to take advantage of the warmer weather and open rivers. The yearly salmon run provides plenty of food for them. And therefore literally thousands of bald eagles can be found in the air and along certain river shorelines. That provides world class wildlife watching and photo opportunities for photographers and spectators alike.

Whether you are a photographer or just want to watch this natural wonder in person. I will bring you up close to it. The peak season for bald eagle watching is usually from November to January.  I’ll drive with you into the beautiful Fraser Valley.  We’ll have several stops along the way to check out, where you can take wildlife and landscape pictures or simply watch and enjoy nature. You’ll love the the scenic landscapes along the beautiful road trip.

I do know a few spots, off the beaten path, which will bring us to scenic locations where usually no tourist goes. Book this full day – road trip adventure which leaves you with spectacular photos and a long lasting memory.

Wildlife Hike in Metro Vancouver

The “Wildlife Hike” was one of the most booked photo tours n Metro Vancouver before the pandemic. If you book my popular Wildlife Hike, we will be exploring an easy, flat trail along a local blueberry farm in Coquitlam / Port Coquitlam. The hike is 8 kilometers and can take up to 3 hours depending on our pace. I can even pick you up from a nearby Skytrain station and drive you to the trail head.

The bears are hibernating until about April! But during late spring and summer, you might see black bears in the blueberry fields and sometimes they even cross the trail right in front of you. I’ve also seen all kinds of birds, including bald eagles, Kingfisher and blue herons. Turtles, deer, cougar, raccoon and coyotes live here too. I will take high quality professional pictures of my guests during the hike and share them online afterwards.

As much as I want you to see wildlife, I cannot guarantee that we will see any animals. They are a bit unpredictable. After all, they are wild animals! I went on dozens of hikes and showed hundreds of guests the amazing beauty of my “backyard”. Every hike is different and we see different animals and scenery. One thing is for sure: It is beautiful! Even in the rain and the scenery is amazing! My guests really like the hike. Read here my 100+ great reviews on Airbnb.

Discover Metro Vancouver

This full day or half day road trip is designed to bring you to some scenic locations within Metro Vancouver. It is NOT a tour of the city of Vancouver, but all locations are outside of the city. I am open to customize the tour to your liking and interests. But the standard tour already covers scenic locations in Burnaby, the Tri-Cities, Pitt Meadows and on full day tours even Langley, Surrey, Richmond and White Rock (on full day tours).

Depending on the season of the year, we might be able to even see some wildlife like bald eagles, black bears or coyotes.

You’ll be sitting comfortably in my midsize pickup truck or a Minivan and I have cold drinks and snacks on board. I’ll be beating the traffic and taking routes only a seasoned local knows. Many locations have public washrooms for you to refresh. This tour is suitable for families, seniors as well as handicapped guests as I will be driving up close to the actually spots and not much walking is required. However, we will have the chance to spend some time for walking and stretching your legs, if that is what you prefer. As on all my tours, I will be taking pictures with a professional camera and share them with you in an online album afterwards.

Photographers are welcome and I can assist them taking awesome landscape photos if desired. But no camera or even an interest in photography is required. Just come, relax and enjoy the tour through beautiful Metro Vancouver.
