Description
I was lucky to capture a rather rare northern lights event during the early morning hours on October 31st, 2021. I got up early and drove to Pitt Meadows. I setup my tripod and camera on one oft the dykes and pointed my camera towards Pitt Lake. The northern light was barely visible with the naked eye. So I set my camera to a long exposure and took a shot in the dark, quit literally. I was pleased to see the northern lights at the back screen of my camera and took several more shots with different lenses and focal lengths. This picture was taken with the following settings:
Aperture: f/1.8 | Shutter speed: 10 sec. | ISO 400
Camera: Canon 5DS R
Lens: Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
Focal length: 85mm
Cropped dimensions: 8688 px X 4887 px
Aspect ratio: 16/9
Resolution: 300 dpi
